2014 Winter Olympics Logo And Mascot

On 26 February 2011 @ 11:20 pm (GMT+3) the final results of the public vote during the live television show named "Talismaniya Sochi 2014 – The Final” were announced at Channel One. The elections council made the decision that the top-three characters with maximum number of votes would all become the Olympic Winter Games mascots:

  • The Polar Bear (from Oleg Serdechniy of Sochi),
  • The Hare (from Silviya Petrova, village New Buyanovo of Yankovsky region, Chuvash republic), and
  • The Leopard (from Vadim Pak of Nakhodka).

Commenting on the results of the live vote, Dmitry Chernyshenko, President and CEO of the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee told that:

Today, Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games have adopted its symbols & for the 1st time in Olympic Movement history, the whole country was involved in selecting the mascots. The Olympic Winter Games has three mascots, representing three places at the Olympic podium. All the top 3 characters according to the Olympics system will become the Olympic Winter Games mascots. These mascots are the choice of the whole country & will remain in the Olympic movement history.
